Financing available. 1979 Lafer MP, a fiberglass-bodied replica based on the Volkswagen Beetle. In 1974 Percival Lafer, owner of a Brazilian furniture company, set out to build a replica of classic English cars from the 1940s-50s, using a 1.6 engine with dual carburetors, 54 HP, top speed about 130 km/h. The body is fiberglass. The car was produced until 1990. Of about 4,300 cars produced, roughly 1,000 were exported. A good portion ended up in Europe (about 150 in Germany, of which around 30 survive).
