Description

Financing available. The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 was one of the most popular models produced by Alfa Romeo and enjoyed a storied competition career in the early 1930s. Launched originally in 1929 as an evolution of the 6C 1500, the 6C 1750 won Mille Miglia in 1928 and had a sporting career including a 1-2-3 at Mille Miglia with the winning car driven by Tazio Nuvolari, reaching averages above 100 km/h. The 6C 1750 achieved notable results at the Targa Florio, Tourist Trophy and the 24 Hours of Spa in the early 1930s. Production of the Sport and Super Sport lasted only two years, and many 6Cs were bodied as torpedo, sedan, or coupé. Our Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 was built in 1931 with a Torpedo body and was sold new in Milan to Mr. Besnati Aldo on 06/03/1935; it later passed to Mr. Rotondi of Milan, possibly a dealer. On 30/03/1935 it was sold again to Mr. Guarnaschelli Luigi of Piacenza and changed plate to 5042-PC (still preserved today). Postwar, in 1949, the car was re-bodied by Carrozzeria Ferranti in Rome and that is the body it carries today. The engine remains its original unit, although the braking system was converted to hydraulic. In 2019 the car underwent major maintenance with a complete engine overhaul by a specialist in Italy, and in June 2024 it was serviced in preparation for the Vernasca Silver Flag. This is a rare collectible with well-documented history and perhaps one of the most collectible Alfa Romeos that inspired Enzo Ferrari to build his legendary empire.
